About Civil Canine
At Civil Canine, your goals are our goals.
We understand that there's no cookie cutter method for every dog and each individual has their own needs and motivations.
It's our goal to put the happiness and welfare of the dogs we train first, aiming to help our clients build the best relationship possible with them.
We train with relationship based balanced methods with a focus on changing a dog's mentality and outlook on the world instead of expecting plain obedience to carry them through.
There's something for everyone here.
Zoe Neidy
Owner & Trainer
Having a strong passion for dogs has flourished into a career over the years. Working with dogs first as a pack walker, then a kennel tech, an intern trainer, and finally a business owner, life has been busy since 2019.
Zoe has had the privilege to work with hundreds of dogs over the years in a variety of different capacities such as puppy raising, fostering, walking, training, boarding, and competitive sport training.
She actively competes in PSA (Protection Sports Association) with her Belgian Malinois, Lumi, and is currently working towards their PSA3 title.
She regularly attends seminars and devours books and courses to further her knowledge on everything dogs and dog training.

Lumi
Belgian Malinois
Lumi is Zoe's first working dog. From the moment she picked her up from the breeder in 2019, they were stuck to each other like glue.
Lumi actively and competitively trains for PSA and is currently working towards a PSA3. She's earned accolades such as high in protection, high in obedience, high in trial, and has 1st place trophies to boot. In 2024, Lumi and Zoe placed 2nd at the PSA World Championship in the Level 2.
Outside of PSA, Lumi does cadaver detection, works as a neutral demo dog to help dogs with reactivity, and loves to teach puppies how to be socially appropriate.
In her spare time, she chews on her beloved Jolly ball and snoozes on the couch.
Yara
German Shepherd/Lab
Yara was introduced to the family in 2023 with the intent to foster her, but ended up being so special that she was never even put up for adoption (whoops).
Insecure but affectionate, she doesn't have much to her in a competitive nature - nothing at all actually - but she has plenty of love to give.
Aside from being a demo dog, Yara's #1 job is to be a companion. She's a smart dog, but doesn't enjoy the expectations that come with learning which can make her a difficult dog to work with, having to exercise more patience and skill than average when teaching her new skills.
If she could be described in one sentence, it would be "head empty, heart full."
